Australian Breast Device Registry

If you are planning breast implant surgery, we suggest you ask your breast surgeon and/or plastic surgeon if they contribute to the Australian Breast Device Registry (ABDR).
The ABDR is a record of surgeries involving breast devices such as:

• breast implants
• breast tissue expanders
• mesh (biological or synthetic).

It monitors and reports on the long-term safety of breast devices and breast device surgery.

If your surgeon contributes to the ABDR, they will add your details to the registry. You can access information about your breast implant, which can be very helpful if you:

• have complications
• need a revision (a new implant)
• see a new surgeon. 

Your surgeon will give you details of the breast device used in your surgery.
