New diagnosis of early breast cancer

Finding out you have breast cancer usually comes as a great shock to you and your family.

You may already be feeling anxious after weeks of tests and waiting for results. Now, you have a lot of new information to understand and important decisions to make.

We’re here to help you make sense of the diagnosis and guide you through what comes next.

Try to remember that most people survive early breast cancer and support is available.

Whatever your situation, and however you’re feeling, it's important to know early breast cancer has a high survival rate, especially when it is found and treated early.

This can be very reassuring as you go through the next few weeks and months.

Our Helpline and the resources in this section can help you find your way and feel more in control. We also have resources to support people with metastatic breast cancer.
